Cultivating passion in young musicians through immersive and diverse symphonic experiences in Mid-Missouri's #1 Youth Symphony Program.

The Missouri Symphony Conservatory (MSC) is the branch of MOSY whose goal it is to educate and inspire young musicians through performance opportunities to become lifelong music advocates.

The Missouri Symphony Conservatory is proud to offer quality educational experiences with high-caliber educators and musicians in the mid-Missouri area.

The MSC is fortunate to have phenomenal instructors as well as a strong partnership with the University of Missouri’s School of Music and the Missouri String Project. The Missouri Youth Symphony is also the full youth symphonic orchestra in the area. Our Conservatory students have the wonderful opportunity to learn firsthand from professional MOSY musicians as well as playing alongside them.

The conservatory in 2025/2026 will be organized in two different ensembles, the Overture Philharmonic Orchestra and Missouri Youth Symphony Orchestra. Each group will have a performance every semester, plus additional performances and fun activities - fundraisers, concerts at Lenoir Woods, and much more.

Ensemble placements are based on the age of the student as well as how long they have been playing their instrument. Please review the descriptions of each ensemble to see which fits your student the best. If you have questions, reach out to the Conservatory Director, Adrián Gómez Hernández.

  • Fall Semester

    - September 15th: "Try-out day": Students and families who are unsure about enrolling can come for a try-out day and see if they are interested in joining.

    - September 29-December 1: Fall Semester Classes

    - December 7th at 2pm: Fall Concert

    Spring Semester

    - January 26- April 20th: Spring Semester classes

    - April 19: Spring Concert

  • Beginner and Intermediate level (3rd to 7th grade). This will be an entry-level full symphonic experience. Strings, winds, brass, and percussion are invited to join us. Adrián Gómez will conduct this group.

    Rehearsals: Mondays at 4:30-5:30pm

  • Our flagship full symphonic youth orchestra. 7th grade to senior in High School. Students need to have had at least 4 years of orchestra experience. Briana Frieda will conduct this group.

    Rehearsals: Mondays at 5:45-7pm

Covers one full year with a large ensemble. Additional courses available for additional cost.

Scholarships are available:
